I am interested in buying a new cell phone, and want the best phone for what i need to do: Check email, browse web, Text messaging

My father is totally anti-cell phone. He says they’re not necessary and to a certain extent he’s right but I really have had times where I needed a phone and didn’t have one. No matter what I say or do he won’t get me a phone.

I will be 16 next March and I will probably be getting a job by then, so would I be old enough to get my own cell phone plan and cell phone? How old do I need to be? Please help. Thanks.

I’ve spend the last two years in a contract with a cell phone carrier, therefore I did not follow any news and developments in the field. But finally I am free and ready to upgade my phone and service. What cool new phones and functions are available now? What are the hottest and newest phones and trends?

I was trying to do a project that involves mobile programming, and was wondering if there was a way to create programs built for cell phones. Is there some SDK or another way of creating cell phone applications besides the Java ME SDK?

I’m looking for a cell phone provider and device that will allow me to hook it up to the laptop so I can go on the internet. There are limited options in terms of wired internet so I have to rely on wireless since the area I’m living in won’t get a signal unless it’s near a window and there are no areas where I can get broadband on the bay in the base.

I will be in London for 2 months (June and July) and I was wondering about a few things pertaining to cell phones:

1. is it necessary that I get a cell phone?

2. what are the plans like and what are the cheapest plans and what would you recommend?

3. are the plans more txt or minute based?

The offers and choices are confusing…probably intentional! Any advice on the best company and best plan for family plan (but just 2 phones)…we mostly use the cell phone to call the house, occassionally in the car, and for emergencies. So, obviously we want the cheapest option available. Any suggestions??? And we need new cell phones…but don’t need the latest and greatest…something easy to use and reliable.

I got a cell phone in October and I liked it the first month. Now I cannot stand the phone and really want another one. The catch is, I signed a 2 year contract. How can I get a different phone and void that contract?

Since I need a bigger screen than a cell phone’s screen to surf, I want to use my netbook… I’ve heard that I can tether it to a cell phone. Does anyone know which cell phones or which providers there are for this data plan?
